Adoption Status: Available

Foster Status: Available

DOB:  approx 3 years old

Sex: Female

Breed: Beagle x Staffy

Size: Small-Medium (approx 15kgs)

Fence Requirements:  Minimum of 1.5m high. Will require sturdy fencing and preferably concreted at base to prevent her digging out as Bella has the Beagle wanderlust.

Hobbies: Hanging out with people, sniffing all the glorious scents of the world (smelling the wind, inhaling the scent of the flowers, trailing her nose to the ground, seeking out food in the pantry, you get the idea), eating, going for walks, enjoying life.

Good Habits:  Sweet dog with a gorgeous and gentle nature, social with dogs, great companion and friend.

Bad Habits: Compelled to explore and will climb up, jump over or dig under the fence to make this happen.  Loves food.  Could potentially steal your roast off the dining table if she has typical Beagle traits.

Adoption Fee: $285

Bella is the sweetest dog with a lovely outgoing nature.  She would make a great family dog, as long as the family is well trained at shutting gates!  Otherwise a companion for an active couple may be ideal.  We want Bella to go to a home where she will continue to be important in her family’s life and not be banished to living outside because they are busy doing other things.

Experience with Beagles would be a bonus, but otherwise at least an understanding of their nature.  Beagles tend to be great opportunists, and will scarper through open gates that distracted humans have left open, grab sausages off the BBQ while their human is topping up their wine, and might even help themselves to the jar of mayonnaise from the outdoor table while their human is on the phone.  In addition you can rely on a Beagle to find the dog treats you left in your trouser pocket while you are in the shower.

Bella may not do any of these things, but at the end of the day Bella is a Beagle x, and we don’t want her to have a lifetime of scolding for being who she is.  Bella needs a thoughtful and intelligent owner who understands just how amazing Bella’s nose is, and who will recognise the need to be on top of their game to keep one step ahead of her – just because she is a Beagle!

Bella would just love to have a caring home where she is truly valued, with walks every day, time to explore the local parks and streets, games and fun at home, and lots of cuddles.  Forever.

As with all Pound Hounds, Bella must be allowed access to inside the home, so she can really be a part of the family.

Other Info: We do not know how Bella is with kids, cats, birds or stock
