Adoption Status: Available to Adopt
Foster Status: Awaiting Foster Home
DOB: approx 18 months old
Breed: Mastiff x
Fencing Requirements: Minimum 1.8m of secure, dog-proof fencing around the home.
Hobbies: Snuggles, playing with his hoomans, going on adventures, playing with his doggy friends
Good Habits: Happy, affectionate, good with hoomans and dogs, house trained, just wants to be loved, doesn't appear to bark (except when he's super stressed), good with bossy cats
Bad Habits: Pulls a bit on lead, will take himself for a wander if you don't take him, thinks he's a lap dog (not a bad thing but he's got a boney bum)
Personality Type: He's a happy, outgoing, loving goober. Medium energy (at least an hour off the property walk per day)
Special Requirements: None that we're aware of
Ideal Home: Baxter's PERFECT home would be a home where he got to be with his hooman all day. He's a great guy who's looking for someone to be his bestie. Baxter has lived in a home with a bossy cat that he was a little scared of so a cat that stands up for itself in the home would be fine. Bax is used to the cooshy life in a home where he got to hang out with his hoomans and sleep on the couch so he's struggling with life in the pound. We're hoping to get him out and into foster as soon as we can but if his perfect hoomans come first then that's even better! We're still learning about Baxter but we do know that he has looks and charm, a super awesome personality (he's a sooky goofball), knows his basic manners, doesn't pull too badly on lead (unless he's excited) and can JUMP! so a great high fence will be a must (no farm fencing). We don't know how he is with kids but he's a big boy so kids over 12 would be best. We don't think he'd be too fazed by a busy home, he's a pretty easygoing sort of guy who just wants to be included in everyday life and get out for an adventure (walkies) every day.
Adoption Fee: $320
Can you offer Baxter a safe home full of adventures, company, quality food, a warm bed, regular flea and worm treatments, and most importantly loads of love for the rest of his days?
As with all Pound Hounds, Baxter must be allowed inside the home (this includes sleeping) so he can really be part of the family.
ADDITIONAL INFO: We will update Baxter's profile as we get to know him better
