Adoption Status: Available to Adopt
Foster Status: In foster care
DOB: approx 10 weeks old (she still has all her baby teefs) - born approx March 21
Size: We think Chloe is going to be a medium to large girl when fully grown
Fencing Requirements: Minimum 1.5m or higher secure, dog-proof fencing around the home in town or secure miniumum 6 wire fencing if rural.
Hobbies: Playing with her sister and the other dogs in her foster home, learning new things, naps, being with her people, snuggles, exploring, playing with her toys (especially squeaky ones), FOOD!
Good Habits: Affectionate, social with hoomans, social with dogs and cats, learning basic manners, house trained, crate trained, super food motivated, loves everyone, happy, snuggly
Bad Habits: She's a pup, she doesn't have bad habits yet although she is a Huntaway so she can be a bit of a "talker" sometimes but not excessively.
Personality Type: Medium energy, outgoing, social, very fun to have around, eager to please
Special Requirements: None that we're aware of
Ideal Home: Chloe is only a baby still so will need someone at home with her during the day. She is a very social girl and a home with another calm and good mannered dog to play with and learn from would really help her learn all about how to dog. She has never been apart from sister Zoe and has been around other dogs since coming into care, so another dog in the home would help her settle in too. When she's old enough she will also love to get out and about to explore and go on adventures. We believe she'll be a active medium energy girl (at least an hour walkies a day) when she's grown, so will need a home that can keep up with her energy. Chloe is a happy and outgoing, beautiful natured girl who loves to be with you, she's a little less confident than her sister Zoe but that often happens when siblings stay together past 8 weeks. She will need a home that is prepared to continue doing lots of great socialisation in all types of situations, take her to cool things like puppy preschool or dog obedience so she learns to be a great doggy citizen. Because of her breed, we suggest you do your research. We would love a lifestyle block or pet farm home for Chloe.
Adoption Fee: $350
Chloe found herself dumped on the side of a road with her sister Zoe as only a wee baby around 5 weeks old (they both still had a little bit of blue in their eyes!). She and Zoe were found by a man when he nearly ran them over with his harvester on the road! He and his wife then listed them on a Buy and Sell page for free - Oh no!! Luckily, one of our foster parents saw them and let us know, they were quickly picked up and have been in our care ever since. On arriving into our care, we found they were very tiny, full of worms and fleas! Even though they were only wee babes and FAR to young to be away from mum they were already full of life and after a couple days to settle in were already running around like they'd always been there.
Now that Chloe always has a full belly and a safe place to call home (even if it is only for now), she is a wonderful happy, outgoing and loving girl who loves to be with you and loves to play. She loves to learn new things, loves to play and loves spending time with her foster family. She's learning all about good doggy manners and picks up things fast so will need a hooman who is prepared to keep teaching her how to be a good doggy citizen and introducing her to new situations so she can learn that the world and everything in it is pretty awesome. She has only lived rurally so some new things in town may be scary if she doesn't learn about them but it will just take her new family continuing the work we've been doing and teaching her in a positive way that new things are fun for her to learn and adjust really quickly.
Chloe is crate trained but will need any new hooman to continue the house training - especially when she first gets to her new home, so she knows how to get out and where to go toilet. She is also super food motivated and smart so should pick up any training quickly. She is currently in a foster home with kids, cats, dogs, chickens, sheep, horses and of course her sister Zoe. We think a home with children over the age of 8 would be best for Chloe while she is still learning good doggy manners and of course another dog in the home would be ideal.
Chloe's foster mum says "She is a beautiful sweet natured little pup who loves life and getting her snuggles. Shes a gorgeous girl"
Can you offer Chloe a safe forever home full of adventures, company, quality food, a warm bed, regular flea and worm treatments, and most importantly loads of love for the rest of her days?
As with all Pound Hounds, Chloe must be allowed inside the home (this includes sleeping) so she can really be part of the family.
ADDITIONAL INFO: Chloe is a Huntaway, this is a working breed. Huntaway's have physical AND mental exercise needs - they need to use their brains. Please do your research before applying to adopt. Preference will be given to those with breed experience.
