Mirabel (Belle)

Adoption Status: Available to Adopt

Foster Status: In foster care

DOB:  13 weeks old (DOB 26 April 2022)

Sex: Female

Breed: Both parents are known and are a mix of Whippet, Aussie Cattle Dog, Labrador & Terrier (Foxy/Jack Russell type Terrier)

Size: Mirabel is likely to be a slim medium approx 20ish kgs

Fencing Requirements: Minimum 1.5m or higher secure, dog-proof fencing around the home

Hobbies: Learning new things, playing with her toys, playing with her brothers and sister and other doggy friends, getting loads of cuddles, naps, finding treats and treasure hunts, doing zoomies.

Good Habits:  Very people oriented, very snuggly but also happy to enjoy quiet time by herself (not clingy), VERY smart, learning "sit" and "bed", VERY dog social and listens well when older dogs tell her no, great with kids, has toilet training sussed, crate trained, food motivated, her love of people and food plus her smart brain make her very easy to train.

Bad Habits: Mirabel is still too young to have any bad habits just yet, however she doooeeess like to do zoomies when she plays with her brother and then unexpectedly take a flying leap up onto your lap when you're on the couch and give you a big fright haha. Her foster parents are working on that...

Personality Type: Medium energy, gentle, playful, great company (affectionate without being needy), very sweet nature, laid back, happy

Special Requirements: None that we're aware of

Ideal Home: Belle would love to find a happy, chill home with or without children. She is living with a young child and is really good, but she IS a puppy so would recommend a home with children over 5 years. She's great with other dogs, having been well socialised with all different sizes, she adores the adult dog in her foster home and follows him everywhere, so a home with another dog would be a bonus. She's a medium energy girl and will likely need a home where she got out for good (minimum 1 hour) adventures every day when she's old enough, we suspect she'd be a fab running or hiking bud - at the moment she still takes lots of naps after a zoom around the yard. She would love a home where she got plenty of snuggle time on the couch as well as a hooman who wants to teach her all the things (so she can have all the treats!). Mirabel is still a baby so will need someone home with her for most of the day.

Adoption Fee: $350

Mirabel melts your heart, she's like a little, soft, loving marshmallow. She's a very gentle and sweet girl who also loves to play and will have a good munch on her squeaky chicken (which is her FAV toy).

It's not often we get pups into our care that we can say had the very best start in life, but we can with Mirabel and her siblings! Mirabel is part of an "accidental" litter, but lucky for her, she was born into a home with people who cared about her welfare. She's been well taken care of and has had the added bonus of being able to stay with her mum (and dad) until she was 11 weeks old. In that time she's been well socialised with people and other dogs, has had regular flea and worm treatments and plenty of food. This all means that she's a beautifully socialised girl, with a very sweet and fun nature, who is confident and happy and in really great condition (even our vet was impressed!)

Belle is SUPER smart, loves food and loves people which all adds up to a kid who is VERY easy to train and picks things up quickly. She's also determined that she is in fact meant to be a lap dog, and will happily take all of the scritches thank you very much.

Mirabel's foster parents have been working very hard to help her with learning all the things like house training (she's got it nailed and will run out to go on the grass every time!) and basic manners (already knows sit and bed) and she's loving using her brain for treasure hunts and kibble scramble games! This girl LOVES to use her brain AND getting treats, so a home where her family will make use of those talents by taking her on lots of "sniffy walks" and teaching her fun tricks would be fab. She adores other dogs and has had plenty of socialisation with them (big and small) as well as cats (likes to follow them around and sniff them) so with ongoing training could potentially fit in just about anywhere.

Belle would very much love a home where she got to be with her hooman during at least some of the day, she's still a baby so does need someone home at the moment. A home with kids (preferably over 5) and another dog would be cool (she's living with a toddler currently), but we think she'd adjust to being an only child too (if she got lots of play time with other doggy friends of course!)

Belle is a super sweetie who loves anyone that comes by the house. She'll jump in their lap for a cuddle or run around and play with them. She has met lots of kids and thinks they're great.

Can you offer Mirabel a safe forever home full of adventures, company, quality food, a warm bed, regular flea and worm treatments, and most importantly loads of love for the rest of her days?

As with all Pound Hounds, Mirabel must be allowed inside the home (this includes sleeping) so she can really be part of the family.

These are truly wonderful, gorgeous natured pups and are going to make wonderful family members.

Thanks for checking out gorgeous Mirabel's profile! We cant wait to find her forever hoomans, could that be you?
