We just want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has thought about us, and our Poundies, during this incredibly difficult time.  We appreciate all of the offers of support and help, and it makes us feel so awesome to see so many people wanting to genuinely help the Poundie kids in our care.

FOSTERING A DOG

With lock down potentially reoccuring, some people have reached out to let us know they're able to foster while working from home. We appreciate the offer however we do need to make it clear that fosters need to be able to commit to fostering until their foster dog is adopted. This could be for a couple of weeks, six months, or a year... we can never truly know when a Poundie will be adopted. So, we need fosters who are able to commit to our Poundie's care and provide long term stability. Our Poundies are rescues who may have "quirks" and we need people who are willing to help work on these, with guided training and patience.

We have to consider that accepting short term fosters would mean that there will be a flood of dogs urgently needing new foster homes at the end of any lock down. We also have to consider the impact this would have on our Poundies. It can be difficult for them adjusting to one family for a month or so and then having to re-adjust to a new foster home if they are needing to be moved.
We do however, always need reliable, stable, long term fosters available to help and would love to have those of you who are prepared and ready to commit to this. If you would like to learn more about fostering please check it out HERE. We will be looking at all applications during Level 2 and getting new foster homes up and running as quick as we can! Please be aware that all foster applications are subject to a clear background check with Animal Control, secure fencing and no more than one dog already on the property. If you are renting, you'll need written landlord consent to foster.

SURRENDERING / RE-HOMING A DOG - ARE WE 'TAKING IN" DOGS?

PHR predominantly take in "Poundies". Dogs in the Pound that have been either found wandering and are unclaimed or have been signed over to Animal Control by their previous owners. We have limited space, and this is all dependent on foster homes being available. For this reason, we do not take in dogs from the general public.

HOWEVER

Please do check out our HELP page, we may be able to offer you support in other ways.

ADOPTIONS

All adoption processes will be suspended immediately should we go into Level 3 or lock down. Our Poundies will not be moved from foster care during Level 3/lock down. Meet and greets will not be conducted during Level 3/lock down.

If you wish to adopt from us, you are still welcome to apply, however we are unable to do any face to face meetings until Level 2, so during Level 3 & 4 we will be shortlisting applicants and setting up calls to chat further. Please keep an eye on your inbox, and spam/junk folder as sometimes our messages end up there!

SALE OF PRODUCTS IN OUR ONLINE SHOP

Are you still sending out Online orders?

Yes, for now. This may change should lock down reoccur. You will still be able to order items and as soon as we are able to get them out to you we will do so.
