Paxton and his 6 sibilings came into Animal Control care at only ONE day old! Sadly their mama passed away while giving birth to them. At 1 week old, they came to us and have been in their amazing foster homes ever since. They've received the very best care and have all been able to be around adult doggos that have been their surrogate mamas so they've had the opportunity to be well socialised with other dogs and have also had the benefit of staying with their littermates, which means they have had the ability to learn all the good things any pupper needs to learn from their littermates too. Because they have all been bottle fed, they are also very affectionate and social pups with hoomans too.
Paxton is still a baby so he will need someone home with him during at least some of the day but is getting used to time alone during the day.
This little man is just the right blend of confidence and cuddles. He's adventurous, curious, brave and loyal, but he's also happy to chill at home and have a snuggle on the couch or hang out napping in his crate. If you're looking for a best mate... this guy is your man.
Paxton loves exploring. He's inquisitive and handles new situations well. He loves people. Other dogs and toys are his two other favourite things. He's been raised around kids of varying ages from the time he came into our care at 1 week old but we think a home either with no kids or with kids over 12+ would be best. He'd prefer a calm home with routine and clear rules and boundaries - he is a really good boy and tries really hard to do the right thing but he is a strong breed puppy so rules and boundaries (kind ones of course) are going to help him grown into a really good ambassador for his breed type. His foster parents have been amazing at getting him out into the world to see new things (safely of course) which has made him a very easygoing, happy and confident boy.
Paxton started off in a foster home with two of his siblings as well as two adult dogs, who he loves to play with and follow around. He is now in a new foster home with 3 other adult dogs, a cat and a turtle (and a young child). He has adapted beautifully to his new foster home. He would love a home with another dog to learn all the good things from and play with but would likely be fine on his own too. While he has only met the cat in his foster home, we believe with proper introductions he would be fine in a home with confident cats.
Paxton would love hoomans who will enjoy taking him on daily walks as well as adventures on the weekends - he really just wants to be a part of the family and do whatever you're doing - as long as that includes snuggles on the couch too of course. We think when he's old enough he will make a great hiking, walking or running buddy and he's a very smart and toy motivated guy so might suit some dog sports too.
Paxton is an easy guy to have around. While of course you'd need to be prepared for the normal puppy stuff, he's a great guy who isn't phased by much and is happy to either snuggle or have his own space on the couch. He's great company, learns quickly and will even put himself to bed for a nap if he needs some time to himself. His crate is his safe space and he'll head there if he feels like he needs some quiet time.
Pax love collecting up his "treasures" and making little piles around the place, then sitting there proudly waiting for you to see what he's created and play with him. He LOVES his toys and is very good about not eating his "treasures" - he's a collector, not a wrecker.
Paxton will need a family committed to making sure he learns all the things a good pupper should know so he can grow into a good doggy citizen. We would recommend a strong breed experienced home or a family committed to providing kind, clear and consistent boundaries. As unfair as it is, due to his breed, he will be judged strongly by society, so a family prepared to continue setting him up for success is going to be super important.
If you can provide Paxton with a fully fenced property, quality food, regular flea and worm treatments, a comfy and warm bed, a comfy couch to nap on, toys and most of all lots of love for the rest of his days, click on the apply to adopt button and complete the application form.
Thanks for checking out handsome guy Paxton's profile! We cant wait to help him find his forever hoomans, could that be you?
