Ideal Home:
Porter and his 6 sibilings came into Animal Control care at only ONE day old! Sadly their mama passed away while giving birth to them. At 1 week old, they came to us and have been in their amazing foster homes ever since. They've received the very best care and have all been able to be around adult doggos that have been their surrogate mamas so they've had the opportunity to be well socialised with other dogs and have also had the benefit of staying with their littermates, which means they have had the ability to learn all the good things any pupper needs to learn from their littermates too. Because they have all been bottle fed, they are also very affectionate and social pups with hoomans too.
Porter is still a baby so he will need someone home with him at least part of the day. He'd also be a great work mate.
This very handsome little man is such a sweet little boy, he loves snuggles and hates the cold so will snuggle up next to you and get under your blankets - he likes to be tucked in at night and will stay under the covers until you wake him up in the morning!
Porter absolutely adores people and quickly warms up to new things once he feels safe. He loves playing with his toys and chewing his kong, but loves playing with his older doggy foster sisters and his brother Paxton too!
Porter is in a foster home with his brother, as well as three adult dogs, a cat and a turtle. He loves to play with and follow around the adult dogs in the house who have been like surrogate Mamas to him and his siblings. He would love a home with another dog to learn all the good things from and play with. He is good with the cat in his foster home and just ignores it. He has been around chickens and a turtle so far, he is curious but cautious and is easily distracted if you think he is getting to close.
He is learning basic manners and being in his crate for chill out times, he's also learning that the car means good things and while he was unsure at first, is now happy to go for rides. After lots of trips to meet the kids at kindy, he has learnt to sit nicely when meeting new people.
Porter has been around kids since he came into our care and he loves people. We believe he would do best in a home with kids 5+ who are gentle and kind but that would love to play with him. We believe he would prefer a calm and quiet but fun home. He'd love a home with hoomans who will enjoy taking him on daily walks and weekend adventures to see the world, as well as someone to cuddle up with on the couch in the evenings of course. He gets really excited when visitors come to the house, he was nervous when he was younger, but now associates visitors with pats and friends.
He is good with food so far, doesnt snatch or steal food - he is really good at listening to corrections from humans and other dogs so he will be a great dog to train! He is crate trained and is good when left at home alone for small periods of time.
His foster mum says: "Hes a big sweet goober that just wants all the love and cuddles! Super playful and adorable. He loves to stand up next to the bath while my daughter is in there, he loves bubbles!"
Porter will need a family committed to making sure he learns all the things a good pupper should know so he can grow into a good doggy citizen.
If you can provide Porter with a fully fenced property, quality food, regular flea and worm treatments, a comfy and warm bed, a comfy couch to nap on, toys and most of all lots of love for the rest of his days, click on the apply to adopt button and complete the application form.
