Help us raise funds for sausages, sauce, and supplies for our BBQ stall at Barkfest – November 2nd 🐾

For every $2 donation, you’ll receive one entry into the draw to win a beautiful A4 graphite pencil portrait of your dog or cat, drawn on acid-free art paper by Wendy, a kind member of our Cambridge community.

💕 About the Artist

Wendy isn’t a professional artist — she’s a passionate hobbyist who has only ever drawn for friends and family. She admits she’s a little nervous about “getting it right,” but she pours her whole heart into each piece she creates and just wants to help us raise money for our Barkfest supplies so we can make the most of our fundraising on the day..

She’ll also have her own stall at Barkfest selling printed art to raise funds for a sick family member — so be sure to visit and support her too!

🐾 Prize Details

Prize: One custom A4 graphite pencil portrait of your dog

Medium: Graphite pencil on acid-free art paper

Timeframe: Please allow 2–4 weeks for completion once your photo has been received

Delivery: Artwork can be collected locally or posted within New Zealand

📸 Photo Tips for the Winner

To help Wendy capture your dog’s personality perfectly:

Get down to your dog’s eye level for the photo (avoid looking down)

Take the photo in soft daylight, not harsh sunlight

Ensure the whole head is visible (no missing ears!)

Avoid flash — it changes fur tone and eye colour

Make sure the eyes, nose, and fur are sharp and in focus

Take several shots — the closer the photo, the better the detail!

Best results come from a current photo of a dog still with us 🐾
