Ideal Home:
Teddy and his 6 siblings found themselves surrendered to the pound with their mum when he was only 6 weeks old. Luckily the pound staff are amazing and made sure they stayed safe while their mum did a fab job of making sure they grew up to be great babies.
Teddy is still a baby so he will need someone home with him during at least some of the day.
Teddy is a chunky little ball of mischievous fun with beautiful eyes and a confident and independent nature. If you're looking for a dude to hang out with you rather than ON you, share your snacks with or to make sure you get out for your daily run, Teddy may be your man.
Teddy is a handsome and intelligent fella with a love of zoomies, stealing your veges and keeping life entertaining which is pretty true to the Husky breed. This means that Teddy LOVES to learn (especially if it involves food), but it also means that he will need a home where he will get the mental stimulation he needs along with clear rules and boundaries - not just physical exercise. He loves his toys, especially his squeaky teddy but food is a big driver for him too. He is currently in a foster home with adult dogs, a dog savvy cat and chooks. He has shown interest in the chooks so we would recommend a chook and small critter free home. With proper introductions and clear boundaries, he may be ok in a home with a cat that is confident around dogs.
Teddy is a Husky mix so will need plenty of exercise - for his brain and for his body. He would love hoomans who will enjoy taking him on daily walks or runs, as well as adventures on the weekends when he's old enough. We think when he's old enough he will make a great running/hiking/long walks buddy and may even make an amazing dog sport kid. He'd also love another (female) dog in the home to play with and learn from, but that's not a necessity.
Teddy is a really happy and fun guy to have around. Where his sister is the brains, he's the boofhead (but don't let him fool you, he's plenty smart too!). He LOVES a good play session and doesn't have to be all up on you to be content (he's not a needy guy). He has not met kids and will be bouncy as he grows so a home with either no children or dog confident kids 10 + would be best.
Teddy loves going for walks, playing in the stream at his foster home (so we're sure with the right intro will love to swim), playing with his sister and his toys, exploring new places, sniffing and chewing everything he's allowed to chew (especially his cow hooves). He will need a home with an active lifestyle and plenty of mental stimulation. He already pees on command and is crate trained.
Due to his breed, we recommend an active, strong breed or Husky experienced home. We would recommend that any potential applicants do their research before applying for Teddy or his siblings - while they are clearly SUPER cute and have beautiful natures, the Husky breed is NOT for everyone. They require significant time and investment in training and exercise and are known "problem solvers" who, if not given the mental stimulation they need, WILL find their own fun.
Teddy will need a family committed to making sure he learns all the things a good pupper should know so he can grow into a good doggy citizen. Puppy preschool would be a great start but really it comes down to clear, consistent rules and boundaries.
If you can provide Teddy with a fully fenced property, quality food, regular flea and worm treatments, a comfy and warm bed, a comfy couch to nap on, toys and most of all lots of love for the rest of his days, click on the apply to adopt button and complete the application form.
Thanks for checking out handsome guy Teddy's profile! We cant wait to help her find her forever hoomans, could that be you?
