Ideal Home:
Toby and his 6 siblings found themselves surrendered to the pound with their mum when he was only 6 weeks old. Luckily the pound staff are amazing and made sure they stayed safe while their mum did a fab job of making sure they grew up to be great babies.
Toby is still a baby so she will need someone home with her during at least some of the day.
Toby is an easy going little man with a calm nature and a love of snuggles. He's a best mate sorta guy, who loves his hoomans, enjoys discovering the world and trying new things.
Toby LOVES to learn (especially if it involves food), this means that he will need a home where he will get the mental stimulation he needs along with clear rules and boundaries - not just physical exercise.
Toby is a Husky mix so will need plenty of exercise - for his brain and for his body. He would love hoomans who will enjoy taking him on daily walks or runs, as well as adventures on the weekends when he's old enough. We think when he's old enough he will make a great running/hiking/long walks buddy and may even make an amazing dog sport kid. He'd also love another (female) dog in the home to play with and learn from, but that's not a necessity. He is quite a laid back boy so would fit quite well into most relatively active homes.
Toby has not met kids and is pretty easy going but he may get bouncy as he grows so a home with either no children or dog confident kids 10 + would be best. He's in a foster home with two adult dogs and his sister, a pig, chooks and cows and he hasn't been worried about any of them. He is a Husky mix though so we'd recommend supervision with chooks and small fluffy critters. He has not met cats but likely would be ok with a confident, dog savvy cat with proper introductions.
Toby loves going for walks, playing with his sister and his toys, doing zoomies with a toy in his mouth, exploring new places, sniffing and chewing everything he's allowed to chew. He will need a home with an active lifestyle and plenty of mental stimulation. He already pees on command and is crate trained.
While Toby is quite chilled compared to his siblings, we recommend an active, strong breed or Husky experienced home. We would recommend that any potential applicants do their research before applying for Toby or his siblings - while they are clearly SUPER cute and have beautiful natures, the Husky breed is NOT for everyone. They require significant time and investment in training and exercise and are known "problem solvers" who, if not given the mental stimulation they need, WILL find their own fun.
Toby will need a family committed to making sure he learns all the things a good pupper should know so he can grow into a good doggy citizen. Puppy preschool would be a great start but really it comes down to clear, consistent rules and boundaries.
If you can provide Toby with a fully fenced property, quality food, regular flea and worm treatments, a comfy and warm bed, a comfy couch to nap on, toys and most of all lots of love for the rest of his days, click on the apply to adopt button and complete the application form.
Thanks for checking out handsome guy Toby's profile! We cant wait to help him find his forever hoomans, could that be you?
