Tara and her sister Tayla came into the pound together as wee babies, and sadly... at 6-7 months old they're still there, waiting for a forever family of their very own to come find them.

Tara has been lucky enough, while living in the pound, to have met lots of dogs and has received a whole heap of love from the Animal Control crew as well. So while it's not ideal that she's lived in a pound her whole life, she's still a very sweet natured and dog social girl.

We recently took Tara out and about to see how she would do outside of the pound in the big wide world. First came a ride in a car - she'd never been in one before! It didn't take long before she discovered the joy of sticking her head out the window and smelling all the smells! Then we took a little trip to a quiet park area where she LOVED going for a wander around and sniffing all the smells! Passing trucks were a bit scary at first, but after a little bit of time standing and watching and some encouragement to show it wasn't as scary as she thought, she got on with the sniffy walk and the trucks weren't an issue anymore. Meeting new people was the best thing ever in Tara's mind! She doesn't know "bad" people exist at the moment and this makes her wonderfully people social.

We think Tara would do best in a home with patient hoomans who are willing to gently and patiently teach her all about the world, take her on loads of sniffy walks and be her companion. We believe that this little miss will make a very loyal and comfortable family member. Happy to spend time with her hoomans just chilling or hanging out doing stuff. We'd recommend a home with dog savvy kids over 8 as Tara has never lived with children before but has a calm nature (once the yaya's are out! haha).

If you can provide Tara with a fully fenced property, quality food, regular flea and worm treatments, a comfy and warm bed, a spot on the couch, games and toys and most of all lots of love for the rest of her days, click on the apply to adopt button and complete the application form.

Thanks for checking out sweet girl Tara's profile! We cant wait to help her find her forever hoomans, could that be you?
